In June, the 9/11 Commission gave a "report card" to Congress on the changes made since 9/11. Many of the changes recommended by the 9/11 Commission have been implemented. However, many of the most important changes have not. The chairperson of the 9/11 Commission released the following statement, reminding them that their job is not yet finished.

The SSC was one of the first organizations created in response to 9/11, and was primarily responsible for the creation of the NIST WTC Investigation, was represented in the Family Steering Committee of the 9-11 Commission, and advocated for reform of the NYC Building Code. The SSC is a non-profit, charitable organization, which advocates for safer buildings, stricter codes, and fire fighter & public safety, and is one of the most well-known and respected 9/11 organizations in NYC.

Their goal is to create a memorial center to bring perspective and hope to those seeking to learn about one of the most infamous days in America’s history.
